Necrotizing pneumonia

This is the alternate name given for the aspiration pneumonia; it is basically the inflammation of the lungs and bronchial tubes. This is mainly caused by inhaling any foreign material from the environment ort talking as food or drink. This basically forms a collection of pus near your lungs causing respiratory infection.

Causes and risk factors:

The foreign particles that may enter your respiratory tract may cause general swallowing disorders; this can also result in decreased gag reflex in semi unconscious or unconscious people. There are several factors that contribute to this state. These factors are old age, alcoholic habit, excessive smoking, use of sedatives and even dental problems. The amount of aspirated substance mainly decides the amount of infection that would be caused. This infection may not necessarily lead to pneumonia.
