Bronchopneumonia is one of the two types of pneumonia that are caused by the bacteria; these are classified under the gross anatomic distribution of consolidation. In bronchial pneumonia or the bacterial pneumonia the inflammation of lungs is produced due to invasion of lung parenchyma by the bacteria. In bronchial pneumonia there are many foci of isolated and acute consolidation which affects one or more pulmonary lobes.
There are two pattern of bronchial pneumonia lobular and lobar; they are classic anatomic categories mainly of the bacterial pneumonia. But these types are mainly difficult to apply in clinical pneumonia. The bronchial pneumonia sometimes leads to the lobar pneumonia during the infection progress of the patient. Same organism may be responsible in causing different types of pneumonia in different persons. So basically in pneumonia identifying the causative agent is far more important than classifying the bacteria.
